COVID-19 Protocols

STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK!

In accordance with the governement directive that came down on November 25th, we are amending classes as follows (check out the new schedule under School – Classes and Schedules):

Thank you for your patience as we work through these new guidelines! We have come up with a plan that we will follow for the next three weeks from November 30-December 18.  After that we will have our Christmas break as scheduled from December 22-January 8.   I would like to thank the instructors for their efforts in figuring out classes so there is the least disruption possible for these next three weeks.  Every class except for one will be on the same day and within half an hour of the regular time.  Some classes had to be shortened a bit to allow for all dancers to have face to face classes.

To help in the transition between classes, we would like dancers to come in the minimum amount of clothing possible (they probably don’t need a toque or mitts to run from the car to the studio).  In accordance with the government announcement, masks will be mandatory the whole time in the building for everyone.  We are also asking to take another look at the COVID questions, and to keep your child home if they are not feeling well for the safety of the rest of the dancers.

We need to come together to be a dance family, now more than ever. This is a stressful time for our admin and instructors so we appreciate all the support that parents have been giving throughout this year.  The instructors spend so many hours at the studio, and so many hours with these kids, they really are like family! We look forward to the day that we are all be back together again, but until that time, we will keep adjusting and continue to dance however we can.

We understand that every situation is different and if your dancer is going to pause until Christmas, please email tavriapresident@gmail.com as we are having some trouble with our tavria@sasktel.net email.

Your instructor will be in contact with further details with the classes.

COVID-19 Symptoms

If for any reason a dancer or immediate family member is experiencing the following symptoms, they should refrain from attending any group activity:

Fever, Chills, Cold or Flu-like symptoms, runny nose, headache, sore throat, aches and pains, loss of sense of taste or smell, shortness or breath or difficulty breathing.

Sadochuk, Beginner, Junior, Intermediate

Dropping Dancers Off:

  • Door will be open 10 minutes before class starts and close at beginning of class. Please be on time as we are trying to limit the amount of people in the foyer at one time.
  • A parent/adult must accompany each dancer into the entrance of the studio. This will happen one dancer at a time.  The other dancers must wait outside until they are called in.  Sadochuk parents will be allowed to come in and stay with their children but all others will asked to drop off dancers and leave.
  • Dancers’ temperature will be taken and they will hand sanitize. Parents will answer the four waiver questions.  If their temperature is too high or the answer is YES to any questions, they will be asked to go home.
  • There will be an adult at the door who will register the dancer and who brought them and who will pick them up. This is for contact tracing if necessary.
  • The dancers are asked to bring only what they will need for class. Please come dressed in your dance attire.  If the weather is good and they can wear their slippers into the studio that would be great.  If they do need to change shoes, each dancer will have a cubby hole or locker that they will be assigned to so they can leave their belongings in.  They can bring water bottles but they must be labelled.
  • Parents – Please let the instructor know if your dancer is ill and unable to attend classes.

During Class

  • Dancers will follow the arrows to go into the studios. There will be marks on the studio floor to indicate where dancers stay during class that have been marked out according to the direction of the Health Authority.
  • Instructors and all other adults in the studio will be wearing masks but currently it will be up to the individual families to decide if the dancer wears a mask or not. We do have some at the studio if someone forgets one.
  • The bathrooms will be open and there will be a parent there to do a clean after it is used
  • If a dancer starts to feel poorly during class, they will be removed to the board room and the parent will be called to pick them up.
  • High contact areas will be sanitized between classes.

Picking Dancers Up after Class

  • Please be on time!! We have multiple classes going on though the evening so to minimize dancer contact, we ask that whoever is picking up dancers be in the parking lot 5 minutes before the end of class so that we can send the dancers out one by one to parents/adults right outside the door.

Late Drop Offs

– We realize sometimes dancers plan to come late to practice so if that is the case, please call the studio IN ADVANCE – (306-352-4596) – to let the administrator/registerer know what time the dancer will be arriving so that we can have someone look out for them at the proper time.  The regular registration, depending on what group the dancer is in, will apply at that time.

Late Pick Ups

– If you know, IN ADVANCE, that you will be late picking up your dancer, please call the studio (306-352-4596) and let the Administrator/registerer know.  The dancer will have to wait in the board room until the next group has all arrived and has gone through the entrance.  Please leave a phone number that you can be reached at so we can call you and let you know it is your turn to pick up your child.

**These procedures are for lates known IN ADVANCE – we are very much asking parents to be on time for drop off and pick up as we have to minimize the number of people in the foyer.

A little throwback from before Christmas of one of A little throwback from before Christmas of one of our adjusted groups. Here in Saskatchewan we are restricted to 8 dancers (plus instructor) with a 9 ft dancing distance. It’s a far cry from the 20 in their regular group but we continue to adapt and adjust choreography as needed. This won’t be forever and we are so blessed to still meet in person as we know many of you cannot.
